Welcome to VISPA

The Verified Independent Service Providers Association, Inc, (VISPA) is an association of companies that provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) care and maintenance services to the First Responder markets.  The goal of VISPA is to achieve the following:

  • Improve the conditions of the industry through the increased awareness and acceptance of industry safety standards, including NFPA 1851, Standard for the Selection, Care and Maintenance of Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting Ensembles;

  • Develop safety and quality standards in conjunction with proper Member oversight to ensure consistent delivery of Member services. 

  • Promote the benefits of quality care and maintenance services to Fire Services organizations with a particular emphasis directed towards reducing the risk of injury for First Responders.

     VISPA Members are verified annually by a nationally recognized testing laboratory according to the current NFPA 1851 Standard for the Selection, Care and Maintenance of Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting Ensembles. All VISPA Members are required to be verified for all three primary layers of Structural Turnouts, including the outer shell, moisture barrier and thermal liner.  In addition, each member is required to have an established Quality Management Manual which is audited annually.
